La batterie AGM « Absorbed Glass Mat » repose sur un assemblage de buvards en fibre de verre qui sont comprimés entre électrodes : l’ensemble étant scellé et totalement étanche.
AGM signifie Absorbed Glass Mat : l’électrolyte est imbibé dans les séparateurs en fibre de verre disposés entre les plaques.
Cette technologie de batterie est qualifiée de faible entretien car les batteries ne nécessitent jamais de remise en eau.
Une batterie AGM est plus adaptée pour fournir un courant très élevé sur une courte durée .
